Sarah Michelle Gellar plays the cool, hard-hitting vampire Slayer, Buffy Anne
Summers, on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Her character started out as your
average California teenager, then at the age of 15, she found out that she was
the Slayer. A destiny of fighting demons, vampires and saving the world from
evil is not every teenagers idea of fun. After she finally accepted it, she
fought evil creatures in L.A., and eventually got expelled from her school for
buring down the school gym. It was filled with vampires, though.
Along
with her mother, Buffy moved to Sunnydale, California, also known as the
Hellmouth. After meeting some new friends, Willow and Xander, and meeting her
new Watcher, Giles She did happen to meet some new friends that liked the idea
that she was the slayer and they got into the gig. Willow, the computer nerd,
and Xander, the shy, but adorable guy help her out whether she likes it or
not.
Her character is very reluctant to take on the responsibilities of
the slayer, but has found out through the past that she has no other choice.
Living probably the hardest life there is to live, Buffy must face high school
trauma, keep her slaying a secret from her mom, try to keep a social status, and
deal with her slayer problems. She recently took her relationship with Angel
(the good vampire) to a new level and his soul was lost. Now, he became a bad
vampire and made it his number one goal to kill Buffy bit by bit starting with
her friends and family.
In the episode Becoming, Buffy was kicked out of
the house, expelled from school, and stabbed the man she loves with a sword and
sent him to Hell. After saving the world from being destroyed yet again, Buffy
took a bus out of town, never planning to return. After a summer away, Buffy
returned and began to get her life back. A new Slayer was introduced into the
mix, Angel was brought back from Hell and Buffy began to get her life back in
order. That didn't last long though as the new Slayer, Faith turned to the dark
side, Angel broke up with her to give her a better life, and the town's Mayor
turned out to be over a hundred years old, with intentions of destroying the
town of Sunnydale. After Angel's life was put on the line, Buffy sacrificed
herself, letting her drink her Slayer blood and nearly kill her. She survived
though, and the Mayor completed his ritual of Ascension, turning into a large
snake at the school's graduation ceremony. However, Buffy had a cleverly drawn
out plan to stop him, which included blowing up the school library, with the
Mayor inside. Finally in college, Buffy finds herself struggling to survive on
her own, away from home and without Angel. He moved to L.A. to allow her a
normal life.
